The primary host for this fungus is the larch tree (Larix species). Through the formation of ectomycorrhiza, the fungus develops a symbiotic relationship with the tree's root system. The mycelium acts as an extension of the roots, helping the tree absorb water and essential minerals, such as phosphorus, from the soil.
There are no symptoms of infection or damage associated with Suillus asiaticus.
