Triphragmium is a genus of rust fungi (order Pucciniales) known for infecting various species within the Rosaceae family. These pathogens are obligate parasites, meaning they require a living host to complete their biological cycle and survive through the growing season.

The fungus typically attacks the leaves of its host, often targeting plants like Meadowsweet (Filipendula). By invading the leaf tissues, the mycelium absorbs nutrients, which leads to the formation of specialized structures that rupture the host's surface to release spores for reproduction.

Symptoms of the infection usually appear as chlorotic or brown spots on the foliage. As the rust develops, these spots transform into visible pustules that contain fungal spores.
