Tylosporaceae is a family of basidiomycete fungi that are recognized as pathogens causing various fungal diseases in botanical organisms. These fungi typically act as wood-decay agents or surface pathogens, colonizing the bark, stems, and vegetative debris of trees and shrubs, which significantly impacts the physiological vigor of the host plant.
The host range of Tylosporaceae mainly includes forest trees and perennial landscape plants. These fungi frequently target the outer protective layers of plants, slowly advancing into the cambium and xylem tissues, especially when the host plant is suffering from environmental stress, nutrient deficiency, or prior mechanical injury.
