Xenasma is a genus of basidiomycete fungi belonging to the order Corticiales. While many species in this genus function primarily as saprotrophs, some may act as weak pathogens, colonizing weakened woody tissues of various trees and shrubs. These fungi are typically recognized by their resupinate, thin, and crust-like fruiting bodies that grow directly on the surface of bark or decaying wood.

The host range for Xenasma species includes a variety of forest timber species as well as orchard trees that are suffering from stress or lack of maintenance. They are most commonly observed in moist, sheltered environments where humidity levels remain high, allowing the fungal mycelium to thrive on the surface of the plant tissue.
