Cascade

The Cascade apple tree is a columnar, medium-sized or semi-dwarf tree with a pyramidal or columnar crown, reaching a height of about 2.5 meters. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to scab, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in cold climates. The onset of fruiting occurs in the 3rd–4th year after planting, and the period of active fruiting lasts for 10–12 years.

The fruits of the Cascade apple tree are large and uniform, with an average weight of about 185–200 grams and a maximum of up to 240 grams. The apples have a flattened shape with greenish-yellow skin adorned with a dark red blush. The flesh of the fruits is dense, juicy, and whitish or yellowish, with a pleasant sour-sweet taste and a slight prickly texture. Due to their taste qualities, the fruits are excellent for fresh consumption.

The variety is characterized by high productivity: the yield of mature trees can reach up to 50 kg per tree or 278 centners per hectare with a planting density of about 4 trees per square meter. The Cascade apple tree was bred as a result of breeding work, which ensures a combination of excellent agronomic characteristics, disease resistance, and attractive fruit qualities.
