Description
Autumn variety selected at the Stavropol Experimental Station for Horticulture. Developed by P.V. Kuznetsov from the cross of Jonathan x McIntosh Red. Widespread in the central and foothill zones of Stavropol. Undergoing state testing.
Medium-growing tree with a rounded crown. Brown-gray trunk and skeletal branches with peeling bark. Bears fruit on spurs, fruiting branches, and shoots.
Buds are reddish-brown, densely hairy, rounded with noticeable convex nodes. Leaves are large, elongated, inversely egg-shaped. Leaf blade is curved along the central vein, with coarse-toothed margins.
Inflorescence — a panicle with medium-sized white-pink flowers. Blooms early but irregularly, sometimes over 20-25 days.
Fruits are medium-sized, irregular, rounded-conical, slightly flattened, with a weakly ribbed smooth surface. Main fruit color is greenish-yellow, covering color — dark red, striped, covering most of the fruit. Peduncle is medium, thin. Calyx is medium, closed, plate is wide and small. Subcalyx tube is usually small, heart-shaped.
Flesh is light-yellow, very juicy, sweet-sour pleasant taste, medium density. Fruit aroma is medium.
Harvesting occurs mid-September. Ripening is uneven. Fruit drop is medium.
Fruits are suitable for juice, cider, puree, good for dessert.
Trees begin fruiting at 8-9 years.
Trees live long and fruit periodically. Yield per tree often exceeds 250-300 kg.
Cold resistance is high in poor-yield years, moderate after heavy fruiting. Leaves and fruits are affected by scab during epiphytotic years.
Advantages of the variety: high yield.
Disadvantages of the variety: low resistance to scab.
