Description
The autumn variety was obtained at the Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia named after M. A. Lisavenko from crossing the early variety Lal'tino with Melboy in 1959. Breeders of the variety: L. Yu. Zhebrovskaya, I. P. Kalinina, T. F. Kornienko, N. I. Dorokhina, G. V. Chupina. Widely cultivated in gardens of Altai Krai. Approved in 1998 for the West Siberian region.
Trees are medium-sized with rounded crowns of moderate density, formed by numerous short reddish-brown branches, with a large number of buds, spurs, and shoots, on which the majority of the fruit forms.
Shoots are straight, medium-thick, round in cross-section, brown, slightly hairy. Leaves are medium-sized, with a grayish tint, slightly hairy on the underside, elongated with a short-pointed tip and serrated edges. Petioles are long, with lanceolate stipules.
Fruits are small to medium-sized (60-98 g), single, flat-round. Surface is smooth and shiny. Main color is greenish-yellow, covering color is red with weakly expressed striations up to half the fruit. Peduncle is medium or short, thin. Calyx is deep, without rusting. Receptacle is medium, half-open above the funnel-shaped basal tube. Seed chambers are half-open. Astringent cavity is very narrow and small.
Flesh is greenish, fine-grained, very juicy, tender, aromatic, slightly sour-sweet, with excellent flavor. Chemical composition of the fruit: total sugars — 13.3%, titratable acids — 1.22%, tannins — 60 mg/100g, ascorbic acid — 25 mg/100g, P-active substances — 300 mg/100g, pectin substances — 5.30% on dry weight.
Ripening period — autumn, but capable of storage up to 120 days. Variety is of universal use, valuable for all forms of ownership.
Fruit production begins on the 3rd-4th year. Annual, moderate fruiting. Winter hardiness is medium, recovery capacity is high. Resistant to scab.
Advantages of the variety: high commercial and consumer qualities of fruits, prolonged storage life.
Disadvantages of the variety: sharply reacts to low soil moisture.
Interesting as a starting form for breeding.
