Green Star

Green Star apple — a modern winter variety of Belgian selection, bred in the late 1980s — early 1990s. This is a medium-sized tree with a branched, unthickened crown, possessing increased frost resistance and resistance to scab and other diseases. The variety is characterized by early fruiting and stable high yield, especially when suitable pollinators such as Golden Delicious, Idared, and Gran Smith are present.

Green Star apple fruits have an average weight of 150 to 200 grams, a green color without blush, and green-cream dense, juicy, and crisp flesh. The taste is dessert, harmonious, sweet-and-sour with pronounced notes, making the apples particularly attractive to consumers. Apples are considered hypoallergenic and have a high sugar content, which further emphasizes their taste qualities.

The fruit ripening period falls in early October, and consumer maturity occurs about a month after harvest. Apples are excellently transported and can be stored in the refrigerator for 6-7 months, maintaining their taste and commercial qualities. Seedlings are grafted on rootstock MM106, which contributes to high yield and plant resistance to adverse conditions.
