Description
Late-season variety selected by the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Growing. Obtained by crossing Korichnoy with Ural Ridge. Authors: M. A. Mazunin, P. A. Zhavoronkov. Approved and widely grown in the Ural region.
Tree with round-pyramidal crown. Bark on trunk and main branches is brown. Bears fruit on all types of fruit wood, occasionally also on last year's growth.
Shoots are brownish and thin. Leaves are large, flat, green, slightly hairy, with fine serrated edges.
Flowers are large, deep cup-shaped, cream-colored, with medium-length, hairless pistil stigmas, slightly raised above the stamens.
Fruits are medium-sized, flat-round, broadly ribbed, with a slanted lower part. Skin is rough, smooth, yellowish-white with red blush over most of the fruit, with slight rusting at the stem scar. Stem scar is short, thick, upright.
Fruit flesh is coarse-grained, slightly fibrous, medium juicy, slightly acidic-sweet, very good in flavor.
Fruits contain 13.6% soluble solids, 9.9% sugars, 0.7% titratable acids, and 29 mg/100 g ascorbic acid.
Storage life is 50 days.
Fruits are used for fresh consumption.
Best pollinators for this variety: Letnye Pолосatoye, Prizyvnoye, Nadezhda.
Trees begin bearing fruit on the 5th-6th year after grafting. Fruit production is regular in the first years, then becomes irregular. Yield up to 75 kg per tree. The variety 'Miasskoe' has high winter hardiness. During epiphytotic years, it may be affected by scab up to 2 points.
Advantages of the variety: good ecological adaptability, yield, high fruit flavor rating.
Disadvantages of the variety: under prolonged high summer temperatures and dry air, fruit flavor quality decreases.
The variety is widely used in breeding to obtain high-quality apple varieties in standard and naturally dwarf forms.
