Description
Autumn variety from the Sverdlovsk Experimental Garden Station. Obtained by L. A. Kotov through crossing Apport with Yudubetsky Weeping. Undergoing State Variety Testing. Popular in the Urals for its large fruit size and high fruit quality.
Trees are medium-sized, forming a strong, rounded crown with blunt branch angles, and their bark is smooth and greenish-gray. Fruit set occurs mainly on spurs and fruiting branches.
Shoots are relatively thick, straight, dark-brown, and heavily hairy. Leaves are large, wrinkled, matte, oval to broadly egg-shaped, with short, blunt tips, soft, with large, serrated margins, medium petioles, and small lanceolate stipules.
Flowers are large, flat, white, with rose-colored buds; stigmas are positioned at the same level as the anthers or slightly above them.
Fruits are medium to large, one-dimensional, weighing 160g, with a rounded, broad-conical shape. Skin is smooth, dry, with a waxy coating. Main color is greenish-yellow, with a cover color mostly consisting of irregular, blotchy red stripes. Fruit stem is short to medium. Calyx is narrow, small, with almost no rusting. Calyx tube is semi-open, with small sepals arranged in a narrow, smooth dish. Subcalyx tube is short and sac-like. Seed cavity is round, chambers are closed.
Flesh is creamy, medium firmness and juiciness, coarse-grained, with good tart-sweet flavor. Chemical composition of fruits: soluble solids — 14.3% (up to 15.0%), sugars — 11.4% (up to 12.0%), titratable acids — 0.76% (up to 0.82%), ascorbic acid — 27.5 to 37.5 mg/100g flesh.
