Crescendo

The spring barley variety Crescendo is a medium-maturing and medium-height barley, recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, and Volga regions, as well as in Moscow, Bryansk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk, and Oryol regions, as well as in the republics of Mari El, Udmurtia, and Tatarstan. The vegetation period of the variety ranges from 72 to 94 days, allowing it to successfully adapt to various climatic conditions. The plant features a short or medium stem, about 65 cm tall, and resistance to lodging, which contributes to maintaining yield and facilitates harvesting.

Crescendo exhibits ecological plasticity and drought resistance at the level of standard varieties, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable weather conditions. The 1000-grain weight varies from 42 to 57 grams, indicating good grain quality. The variety belongs to the deficient and nutans types, which affects its agronomic characteristics. It possesses moderate resistance to diseases such as helminthosporium and powdery mildew, as well as moderate susceptibility to root rot and striped spot disease.

Crescendo is a dual-purpose grain and brewing barley variety, expanding its application possibilities. For brewing technology, it is recommended to apply limited nitrogen fertilizers at 40 kg/ha N at sowing and 40 kg/ha P+K fertilizers in autumn or spring, which contributes to obtaining quality raw material. The average yield of the variety across regions ranges from 33.4 to 58.7 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 61 c/ha, confirming its high productivity and economic attractiveness for agricultural production.
