Description
Finola is a new six-row winter barley variety characterized by very early heading and medium-early maturity. Due to its rapid vegetative recovery and efficient use of soil moisture reserves, this variety exhibits high drought tolerance, making it especially suitable for cultivation in dry regions such as the southeastern Ukraine. Finola is characterized by high tolerance to lodging and stem breakage, which helps preserve yield and facilitates harvest.
This variety belongs to the forage type and contains more than 12.5% protein, as well as over 27% crude gluten, ensuring high grain quality. The 1000-seed weight is 48-50 grams. The yield potential of this variety varies from 45 to 120 centners per hectare depending on the region and growing conditions. The recommended seeding rate is 2 to 4 million seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal plant development and maximum productivity.
Finola exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases, including helminthosporium, powdery mildew, net blotch, yellow rust, and rhihosporeiosis. Recommended cultivation zones are the forest-steppe and Polesie regions. For seed storage, optimal conditions are temperatures from +7 to +10°C and humidity not exceeding 10%, which allows maintaining seed viability and quality until the next planting season.
