The seeds have high germination, positively affecting sowing quality and subsequent productivity of the crop. This variety belongs to the medium-maturing group and is characterized by tolerance to late sowing, expanding agronomic options.
One of the key features of KWS Meridian is high resistance to various diseases and adverse conditions. The variety demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew, helminthosporium, rust, as well as to yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV) type 1. Additionally, it has high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring harvest retention and simplifying harvesting. Drought resistance is rated at 9-10 points, making this barley a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic zones.
The yield of KWS Meridian varies by region and ranges from 53.7 to 54.4 centners per hectare, equivalent to 6-7 tons per hectare.
