Description
LEKARY is a mid-early spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety with a vegetative period of 69 to 73 days. The plant is of medium height with an erect or semi-erect tiller. A distinguishing feature of the variety is strong anthocyanin pigmentation in the flag leaf ears and a pronounced waxy coating on the sheath. The ears are pyramidal in shape, loose with medium density, and also covered with a medium waxy coating. The grain is large, with a non-hairy ventral groove and covering lodicules, giving the grain a characteristic appearance.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. In field trials, LEKARY showed resistance to diseases such as helminthosporium and powdery scab, which contributes to crop preservation and improved quality. The average yield of the variety in the Ural region is about 18.0 c/ha, while maximum figures reached 48.0 c/ha, which was recorded in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
LEKARY belongs to grain-forage barley varieties, with a protein content of up to 11.5%, making it valuable for feed purposes. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to unfavorable factors, this variety is an effective solution for agricultural producers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality barley crop.
