The variety was developed at the Omsk Agro Scientific Center and included in the State Register of the Russian Federation; it is recommended for cultivation in the Ural and Western Siberia regions, in particular in the Omsk region.
This variety is distinguished by high yield and stability of grain quality indicators. The average regional yield is 26.6 centners per hectare, with maximum figures reaching 55.7 centners per hectare in the Tomsk region. OMSK BARLEY 4 exceeds standard varieties in yield in the steppe zone by 0.4 tons per hectare and by 0.2–1.0 tons in the southern forest-steppe.
