Description
TAKMAK is a mid-maturing spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, distinguished by its high grain quality. It is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Eastern Siberia, including the Republic of Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republic of Khakasia, and the Republic of Tyva. The variety is well-adapted to local soil conditions, such as ordinary and southern chernozems, and demonstrates a moderate yield of about 27.7 c/ha. TAKMAK has moderate resistance to loose smut, but is sensitive to helminthosporiosis and root rots, requiring attention to agrotechnical measures.
Studies have shown that the TAKMAK variety is effectively used for obtaining green mass as well as for grain collection, especially with two-cut usage, which allows increasing the dry matter yield almost twice compared to the single-cut option. This makes the variety attractive for enterprises focused on comprehensive crop utilization. Moreover, TAKMAK is characterized by good grain size and high 1000-grain weight, indicating its productivity and quality.
The adaptive potential of the variety is confirmed by its stability and resistance to environmental stresses. Statistical data indicate a positive relationship between 1000-grain weight and breeding value parameter, highlighting the breeding significance of TAKMAK. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is promising for cultivation in Eastern Siberia conditions, providing stable and quality yields.
