Description
Teveck is a medium-maturing spring barley variety developed by Russian breeders of the FCI Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The variety's vegetation period ranges from 65 to 82 days. The barley is characterized by a mult-rowed, loose cylindrical ear with floury grain, featuring a dark purple coloration on the nerves of the outer glume.
The mass of 1000 grains reaches 34 grams, and the grain natural density varies from 650 to 730 g/l. The variety is distinguished by high ecological plasticity and resistance to lodging, drought, and diseases, including loose smut.
Teveck is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk Oblast, as well as the Volga-Vyatsk, Middle Volga, and Ural regions. It is recommended for semi-intensive and intensive farming, demonstrating high yields up to 107 c/ha, although average figures vary depending on the region. Protein content in the grain ranges from 11.7% to 14.07%, and starch content from 47.5% to 53.2%, making it valuable for the food industry.
The Teveck variety was obtained through individual selection from a hybrid population and passed state variety testing. It possesses good technological properties and is suitable for milling and baking use. High grain quality and resistance to adverse conditions make this barley a promising choice for farmers seeking stable and high yields.
