Voskhod

Winter barley variety VOSKHOD is a medium-maturing multi-rowed grain fodder variety recommended for cultivation in the Republic of Crimea and the North Caucasus region. Plants have an erect bush, reaching a height of 60-70 cm on dry land (bogare) and 80-90 cm with irrigation. The ear is cylindrical, of medium length and density, does not droop, with long barbed awns and narrow palea scales. The grain is semi-elongated in shape, with a 1000-grain mass of 34-40 g and grain natural density of 665-680 g/l. The variety is characterized by good resistance to lodging and drought, as well as medium winter hardiness and frost resistance with high resistance to spring frosts. The vegetation period ranges from 224 to 260 days. Yield on dry land reaches 40-50 c/ha, and with irrigation – 50-75 c/ha. Protein content in the grain varies from 11.4% to 12.8%, making it valuable for feed purposes. VOSKHOD possesses resistance to a range of diseases, including brown leaf rust and loose smut, which contributes to a stable harvest and reduced losses during cultivation. Cultivating the VOSKHOD variety requires adherence to sowing and care technologies that take into account its adaptation to the climatic conditions of the steppe zone and Crimea.
