Biological Protection Mechanism

The core of the Baktofit product is a strain of Bacillus subtilis bacteria. The technical value of this formulation, produced by SGP Niva (Crimea) in collaboration with Ibra Agrisciences (Brazil), lies in the bacteria's ability to colonize the rhizosphere and phyllosphere, creating a protective bio-barrier. Unlike systemic chemical fungicides, these bacteria produce specific antibiotic compounds that actively suppress phytopathogens upon contact, effectively inhibiting spore germination and mycelium growth.

Technical Specifications and Application

• Formulation: Wettable powder. This form ensures high stability of the spores during storage and allows for precise preparation of aqueous suspensions.
• Hazard Class: Classified as Hazard Class 4, making it a safe choice for integrated pest management programs, allowing application close to harvest without residue concerns.
• Target Pathogens: Highly effective against Helminthosporium root rot, Fusarium root rot, powdery mildew, brown rust, and various bacterioses.

The product is versatile, covering various agricultural sectors, including winter wheat, winter barley, vegetable, and ornamental crops. From a technical standpoint, the wettable powder formulation requires proper agitation to maintain suspension uniformity during spraying. As Baktofit does not induce pathogen resistance, it serves as a critical component in crop rotation strategies, effectively replacing or alternating with chemical fungicides to maintain long-term soil and plant health.
