Likova

The white cabbage variety Likova is a mid-late or late-maturing hybrid that matures in an average of 120–160 days depending on growing conditions. The heads have an oval-flat or bulbous shape, which facilitates the removal of outer leaves. Head weight varies from 2 to 4 kg, with a density of about 4.5 points. The inner flesh is snow-white, tender, and juicy, with excellent taste qualities, making the variety versatile for fresh consumption, pickling, and canning. The cabbage stores well for up to 5 months and is resistant to cracking, which enhances its market appeal and ease of use.

The Likova variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 90-96 tons per hectare, with a marketable product output reaching 87%. The plant is resistant to diseases such as stem rot and fusarium wilt, which significantly eases care and reduces crop losses. The cabbage leaves are of medium size, gray-green in color with moderate waxy coating, weakly vesiculated and weakly wavy at the edges, which additionally protects the plant from pests and unfavorable conditions.

For growing the Likova variety, the seedling method or direct sowing of seeds into the soil at a depth of 1.5-2 cm is recommended. Seedlings are planted at an age of 45-50 days. Cabbage prefers fertile soils and responds positively to the application of fertilizers. The crop is cold-hardy, sun-loving, and moisture-loving, which allows for successful cultivation in various garden and vegetable plot conditions. Thanks to its frost resistance and transportability, the Likova variety is suitable for regions with a moderate climate and ensures a stable high-quality yield.
