Mishel

Peking cabbage variety 'Mishel' is a popular leafy type widely used fresh for salads, appetizers, and garnishes. This variety is prized for its tender, juicy, crisp flavor without bitterness, as well as its high content of vitamins such as C, PP, K, folic acid, and essential amino acids, which remain intact even after heat processing. Heads are elongated-cylindrical or oval in shape, light green with wavy leaf edges and white centers, weighing 1.5–2.5 kg.

'Mishel' is a mid-season variety, maturing in 60–75 days. Yield reaches 5–6 kg per square meter. Leaf rosette is semi-erect, with medium-sized, slightly curled leaves. The cabbage tolerates temperature fluctuations well and is resistant to diseases, making it easy to grow. Seeds can be sown as seedlings in April or directly into open ground under plastic, observing optimal timing and planting depth.

For successful cultivation of 'Mishel', use light, neutral soils and sunny spots. Planting is done at 60x60 cm spacing for seedlings or 7–10 cm for direct sowing. The cabbage requires regular, abundant watering with good soil drainage to prevent root rot. Due to these characteristics, 'Mishel' is an excellent choice for obtaining high-quality, nutritious Peking cabbage.
