Belgrado F1

Carrot Belgrade F1 is a medium-maturing hybrid of the Berlin-type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. The vegetative period is approximately 110-115 days, allowing harvest within relatively short timeframes. This hybrid is adaptable to various soil and climatic conditions, though optimal productivity requires adherence to agronomic practices: soil loosening, fertilizer application, and regular watering. Sowing should be conducted in moist soil with a seed density of 0.9 to 1.3 million seeds per hectare, avoiding overcrowding. Carrots demonstrate high germination rates and resistance to diseases such as alternaria, cercospora, black rot, and bacterial infections, ensuring stable yields and suitability for mechanized harvesting.

The roots of Belgrade F1 are cylindrical with a slight taper at the end, measuring 16-18 cm in length and 4-5 cm in diameter, weighing 120 to 300 grams. They feature bright orange skin, small core, juicy and sweet flesh with high content of carotene, sugars, and dry matter. The robust, dark green foliage, approximately 40 cm tall, is resistant to breakage, enabling the use of combine harvesters with reel-type headers without compromising product quality. Due to these characteristics, the carrot is suitable for various applications: juice and baby puree processing, washing, packaging, canning, freezing, and preparation of fresh and thermally processed dishes.

The hybrid exhibits excellent storability and can maintain its flavor and commercial qualities for 4-5 months under proper storage conditions. High resistance to cracking and diseases, along with uniformity and smoothness of the roots, make Belgrade F1 an ideal choice for industrial cultivation and processing. This hybrid is particularly valued for its combination of high yield, resistance to adverse conditions, and outstanding taste, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest for various purposes.
