Description
Canberra carrot boasts excellent taste qualities, rated as good and outstanding. Dry matter content varies from 14.3% to 15.8%, total sugar is 8.6-8.8%, and carotene content reaches 23.9 mg per 100 g of raw product. Thanks to these indicators, the hybrid is suitable both for fresh consumption and winter storage. Juice yield from 1 kg of roots upon centrifugation reaches 530 ml, which further expands the possibilities for using the carrot.
The Canberra hybrid is characterized by high marketable yield – from 433 to 580 centners per hectare, which is 76-150 centners higher than the standard Chantenay 2461 variety and corresponds to the level of hybrids such as Cordoba F1 and Carson F1. The recommended sowing rate is 0.8-1.1 million seeds per hectare. The hybrid has a moderate degree of resistance to diseases such as black leg, Alternaria, and Cercospora, which contributes to a stable and quality harvest.
