LONGE ROTE

Longe Rote Carrot – a late-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 125-140 days, distinguished by high carotene content and lack of a core. The root crops have a cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, 18-22 cm in length, weighing 60-300 grams, and a rich orange-red color. The carrot flesh is crunchy, juicy, and very sweet, making it ideal for fresh consumption, home cooking, canning, and juice preparation. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 80 tons per hectare, and resistance to cracking.

Longe Rote is well-suited for growing in both open and closed ground. The seeds possess high cold hardiness: they can be sown at soil temperatures from +2 to +4°C, and seedlings can withstand frosts up to -4°C. Carrots prefer fertile, loose soils with sufficient moisture and develop well on plots where cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, or garlic were previously grown, but do not tolerate soils after spicy herbs. The recommended planting scheme is 45×3–5 cm, seed sowing depth 2–3 cm, sowing dates from March to May and in October, and harvest is conducted in September-October.

This variety is valued for its excellent commercial qualities and ability to be stored for a long time until spring without loss of taste, appearance, and beneficial properties. Due to resistance to rot and diseases, Longe Rote is widely used for both personal consumption and commercial cultivation. Carrots are suitable for processing, specifically for slicing into discs, which expands their application possibilities in the food industry.
