Description
The variety is characterized by high marketable yield, ranging from 326 to 523 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 840 c/ha in the Moscow region. The marketable output is 72-90%, indicating high cultivation efficiency. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent, and dry matter content ranges from 11.5-13.6%. Due to its earliness, the period from germination to root maturity is 75-85 days, allowing for harvest even in summer.
For successful cultivation of 'Red Arrow' carrots, sowing is recommended at the end of April - May at a depth of 2-2.5 cm with row spacing of 15-20 cm, as well as in autumn when temperatures drop to 5°C, at a depth of 1-2 cm with peat mulching. The soil should be fertile, loamy, or clay-loam. The best predecessors for this variety are tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, and legumes. Care includes weeding, deep loosening, watering, and fertilization, as well as thinning the plants twice: two weeks after germination and when the root diameter reaches 1 cm, leaving 5-6 cm between plants. This complex of agrotechnical measures ensures a high and quality harvest.
