Sweethan

Sweethan carrot is a medium-early variety with a vegetative period of about 100–110 days. The roots are conical with rounded or blunt tips, 15–20 cm long and weighing 50–165 grams. They feature a bright orange-red color, uniform texture, and small core, ensuring high flavor quality and high sugar content. The plant has strong, medium-height foliage that is well-attached to the root, facilitating easy harvesting.

The Sweethan variety is widely used in cooking, suitable for fresh consumption as well as processing into juice and preserves. Thanks to its good storability and ability to retain quality during long-term storage and transport, this carrot variety is in high demand as a commercial product. Its high yield and adaptability to various growing conditions make it attractive to farmers and gardeners.

For successful cultivation of Sweethan, seeds should be sown directly into the soil at a rate of 0.12–0.6 g per square meter, at a depth of 1–3 cm, with germination temperatures of +3–5°C. Optimal growth temperature is +18–25°C. At the 1–2 true leaf stage, thinning is required to achieve a density of 70–140 plants per square meter. Carrots require consistent soil moisture throughout the growing season and are unsuitable for heavy, acidic, or poorly cultivated soils. The variety is suitable for early spring, late, and even winter sowing, expanding its cultivation possibilities.
