TANAGRA

TANAGRA — a mid-season, high-yielding hybrid of carrots for universal purposes, with a vegetative period of about 105-110 days. The roots of this variety have a spindle shape, straight and bright orange in color without green shoulders. The length of the roots varies from 16 to 25 cm, and the mass exceeds 200 g. The pulp is juicy, tender and aromatic with a small core, which ensures excellent taste qualities. The hybrid is characterized by increased content of carotene, sugar and dry matter, which makes it particularly attractive for fresh consumption, processing and long-term storage.

The leaf mass of TANAGRA is of medium power, and the skin of the roots is smooth. The variety is resistant to unfavorable growing conditions and moderately resistant to Alternaria, which contributes to stable high yields. It is recommended to grow this hybrid in regions with a moderate climate, sowing seeds from mid to late April to early May, avoiding early sowings.

Cultivation technology includes sowing in furrows to a depth of 1-2 cm with a distance between plants of 1-2 cm and inter-row spaces of 15-20 cm. After seedlings appear, two thinning operations are carried out for optimal root development. Care of crops involves loosening inter-row spaces, weeding, regular irrigation and 3-4 top-dressing with mineral fertilizers. If necessary, pest and disease control measures are applied. Harvesting is carried out in September-October before the first frosts, which ensures good preservation of carrots during the winter period.
