ActiveDrive 8: Power Efficiency

The core of the Case IH Maxxum performance is the ActiveDrive 8 (24x24) transmission. It features eight powershift steps across three ranges, allowing for seamless gear changes without torque interruption. This is critical for maintaining traction during primary tillage or heavy transport duties. The transmission logic allows operators to automate speed selection, significantly improving fuel efficiency during field operations.

Multicontroller Ergonomics

The cockpit is designed around the Multicontroller armrest. This interface integrates transmission management, hydraulic controls, and the Headland Management Control II (HMC II) system into a single joystick. By centralizing key functions, the design reduces operator fatigue during long shifts and improves execution precision on the field headlands.

High-Performance CCLS Hydraulics

Maxxum models are equipped with a Closed Centre Load Sensing (CCLS) pump, delivering up to 150 l/min. This high flow capacity is essential for modern precision planters that demand significant hydraulic power for both fan drives and metering units. The electronic hitch control ensures precise implement depth management, effectively preventing traction loss when encountering soil variations.

FPT Engine Technology (Hi-eSCR)

Powering the Maxxum are 4.5-liter FPT (NEF) engines. The standout feature is the Hi-eSCR emission control technology, which allows for the elimination of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). By pumping only clean air into the combustion chamber rather than recycled exhaust, the engine experiences less carbon buildup and higher thermal efficiency, which directly translates into longer service intervals and increased durability in dusty agricultural environments.
