The Case IH Puma series is engineered for versatility, bridging the gap between heavy tillage and light-duty field operations. At the core of its performance lies the 6.7-liter FPT Industrial engine. Utilizing high-pressure Common Rail injection, this powerplant maintains high torque at lower engine speeds, providing the necessary lugging capability for heavy pulling tasks while maintaining fuel efficiency during light transport work.

Transmission and Drivetrain

The Puma offers flexibility with its transmission options, including the highly efficient CVXDrive. This continuously variable transmission eliminates gear-shift lag and optimizes the tractor’s power delivery regardless of ground speed. By maintaining a constant engine rpm while adjusting travel speed, the CVXDrive system ensures that implements run at their peak efficiency, significantly reducing fuel consumption compared to traditional powershift systems.

Hydraulics and Intelligence

To support high-demand implements, the hydraulic system delivers up to 170 l/min of oil flow. The Power Management system (EPM) acts as an intelligent force multiplier, sensing load variations on the PTO or hydraulics and automatically boosting engine output by up to 35 hp when the tractor reaches its capacity threshold.
