Engineering approach to the Elen variety

The Elen chrysanthemum is a product of the research conducted by the Federal Research Center “Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS”. The development focuses on creating a stable bush-type plant adapted to subtropical conditions while maintaining high ornamental value.

Structural features of the inflorescence

• Geometry of form: The pompon type of inflorescence is achieved by the dense arrangement of ray florets, creating a defined spherical volume. A diameter of 5-10 cm classifies the variety as a medium-flowered plant, making it ideal for dense garden compositions.
• Color palette: The combination of white and yellow shades in a single inflorescence is a result of stabilized genetic pigmentation, ensuring uniform color distribution without fading under intense sunlight.
• Lack of aroma: A technological choice that is crucial for cut flower applications, preventing allergic reactions and heavy scents in enclosed spaces.

Agrotechnical parameters

The medium-height form (30-60 cm) sets a clear growth standard: the plant does not require additional staking when planted at the correct density. Its medium cold resistance requires an agronomist's understanding of the climate zone; in regions with critical sub-zero temperatures, the variety requires root system protection. The planting location is strictly regulated: the plant is light-loving, and its photosynthetic system requires direct sunlight to form dense stems and vibrant petal colors.
