Technical Potential of the 'Podarok Galaninu' Variety

This chrysanthemum variety is the result of selective breeding at the Botanical Garden-Institute of the FEB RAS, led by Alevtina Ivanovna Nedoluzhko. The variety was developed to adapt to specific climatic conditions, ensuring reliable vegetation and consistent growth cycles.

Plant Architecture and Habit

'Podarok Galaninu' is classified as a medium-sized potted plant, with a strictly controlled height range of 30–60 cm. This compact architecture minimizes stem lodging when forming flower arrangements and optimizes the logistics of pot cultivation. The robust stem structure provides significant resistance to wind loads when grown in open soil.

Flowering Parameters

• Timing: The early flowering period, occurring in September, avoids critical temperature drops, ensuring the longevity of the inflorescences until the first hard frosts.
• Inflorescence Geometry: The medium-flowered type (5–10 cm in diameter) is optimally balanced with the foliage, preventing the plant from being overloaded by the weight of its own blooms.

Practical Application

The uniqueness of this variety lies in its dual-purpose nature: it is equally suitable for garden landscaping and professional cut-flower production. The density of the petals and the strength of the peduncles ensure an extended vase life, a key performance indicator for floristic use.
