Description
Chrysanthemum variety Pectoral is a compact and sturdy bush reaching 50 to 60 cm in height, which maintains its shape well and does not require staking. This variety belongs to the cut-flower chrysanthemums and is characterized by abundant and early blooming, starting in August. The flowers are dense, multi-petaled, with a diameter of 8 to 10 cm, featuring bright colors ranging from light orange to deep red, making the plant very attractive for decorative use and cutting.
For successful cultivation of Pectoral chrysanthemum, it is recommended to choose sunny, wind-protected locations, preferably on the south side of a house or building. The plant poorly tolerates shade, which leads to loss of leaf color intensity and dullness of flowers. It is important to avoid low-lying areas with high groundwater levels, as excessive moisture may cause root rot and plant death during winter. Optimal soils are light, humus-rich, well-drained soils with neutral or slightly alkaline pH.
Chrysanthemum Pectoral is moisture-loving but requires moderate watering to avoid overwatering and root rot. During dry periods, watering should be increased to maintain the decorative appearance of stems and flowers. Due to its resilience and decorative qualities, this variety withstands winter well in Ukraine and is suitable for both garden cultivation and cutting, making it a versatile choice for flower enthusiasts.
