VASILY LANOVY

Chrysanthemum cultivar 'Vasily Lanovy' is a tall plant with a height of 90 to 100 cm, featuring sturdy flowering stems and medium-leafy light green small leaves. The inflorescences of this cultivar differ in dark lilac color, double-flowered structure, and recurved petal shape, reaching a diameter of 14 to 16 cm. Flowering begins in the first decade of November, which classifies the cultivar as medium-season. Due to its decorative qualities and stem strength, chrysanthemum 'Vasily Lanovy' is recommended for cutting and use in floral compositions.

This chrysanthemum cultivar is sold as rooted cuttings or rhizomes, especially from late autumn to spring. This form of sale is related to the plant's hibernation characteristics, as the vegetative mass of the chrysanthemum does not survive outdoor wintering conditions. This allows gardeners to successfully grow and propagate the cultivar, ensuring its stability and decorativeness in the subsequent season.

Chrysanthemum 'Vasily Lanovy' has special cultural significance and is one of the most famous collection chrysanthemums of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. The cultivar was named after the outstanding actor Vasily Semyonovich Lanov, who supported the garden and held charity concerts there. In 2019, this cultivar was awarded special honor and recognized as the winner of the public voting at the 'Chrysanthemum Ball-2022', highlighting its popularity and uniqueness among many other cultivars.
