Description
The 'Victory Anniversary' chrysanthemum is a decorative garden plant recommended for cultivation in the central region of Russia. This variety belongs to the group of early-flowering Korean chrysanthemums. The bushes reach a height of about 47 cm, with an upright, densely foliated, and rapidly growing stem featuring dark green, leathery leaves of medium width and a slightly serrated edge. The flower stalks are very sturdy, and the cylindrical inflorescences are positioned on the surface of the bush. The flower heads are semi-double, with ray florets of a red-purple hue and tubular light green florets that do not shed and fade slightly in the sun, ensuring a long and impressive bloom.
The period from the start of vegetation to flowering is about 65 days, while flowering itself lasts approximately 81 days. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to diseases and pests, as well as winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for gardeners. Drought tolerance is average, so regular watering and selection of fertile, well-drained soils are recommended for optimal growth.
For growing 'Victory Anniversary' chrysanthemums, light areas with light loams are preferred. The soil should be dug over in the autumn and compost added to improve fertility. Seeds are sown in early spring in rows with a 30-40 cm interval, at a depth of 1.5-3 cm. After seedlings appear, the plants are thinned, leaving 10-15 cm between them. To obtain quality planting material, growing via seedlings is possible. Chrysanthemum flowers can be used in cooking, for example, in marinades, while leaves can be dried and added to dishes to impart a special aroma.
