AFFIN

AFFIN — an early parthenocarpic hybrid of cucumber of cornichon type, intended for cultivation both in open and protected ground. This hybrid is characterized by medium growth vigor and high yield, forming the main mass of fruits on the central stem. The plant is tolerant to lighting conditions, allowing successful cultivation in greenhouses during winter and early spring, as well as under low-light conditions.

AFFIN fruits have a length of 10–12 cm and weight of 70–90 g, with a dark green color and distinctive light stripes from the flower to the center, giving the cucumbers an attractive appearance. They are uniform, smooth-skinned, slightly wavy, and have a tender flavor. Due to their high marketability and excellent transportability, the fruits retain freshness, juiciness, crispness, and firmness even after long-term transportation and storage.

The hybrid is distinguished by high yield — up to 12–18 kg per square meter — making it popular for mass production of elite commercial products. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing, including pickling and canning. High retention of commercial qualities in the second half of the vegetation ensures consistent fruit quality throughout the entire fruiting period.
