Description

Cucumber Balagur is a medium-early, bee-pollinated hybrid characterized by high yield and resistance to a range of common cucumber diseases. The period from germination to the start of fruiting is 43-48 days, allowing for an early harvest. The plant is medium-height with mixed flowering, producing 1-2 fruits per node, which promotes abundant fruiting. Cucumbers are suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary film coverings, expanding cultivation options.

The fruits of cucumber Balagur are cylindrical, dark green with characteristic light stripes, covered with large bumps and light-brown hairs. The length of the cucumbers ranges from 7-8 to 10-12 cm, with a weight of 90-110 g. They are distinguished by their crisp texture, sweet taste, and absence of bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption, pickling, and preservation. Harvesting is recommended at 7-8 cm length to avoid overripening.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, olive spot, and cucumber mosaic virus, and it is tolerant to false powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). This significantly reduces the need for chemical protection and ensures a stable yield. Sowing seedlings is recommended in early May, and transplanting into the ground should occur at the end of May or beginning of June, when plants have reached the 2-3 true leaf stage.
