Cucumber variety BALLET is a parthenocarpic hybrid intended for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings. This variety is characterized by early fruiting — fruiting begins 45-50 days after seedlings emerge. The plants are indeterminate, medium-branched, with predominantly female flowering, which promotes the formation of 1-3 fruits per node. Leaves are medium-sized, green, and fruits have a cylindrical or oval shape, 8-10 cm long, with an intense green color, white or black pubescence, and large, sparse bumps. Cucumbers of the BALLET variety are distinguished by excellent taste, thin skin, and dense, tender flesh. Fruit weight varies from 80 to 120 grams. The variety is versatile in use — suitable for both salad consumption and canning or pickling, while fruits retain a crisp texture and attractive appearance. High market yield reaches 11-12 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for private and farm holdings. The BALLET variety exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including olive spot, powdery mildew, root rot, ascochytosis, and cucumber mosaic virus. It is also tolerant to false powdery mildew, ensuring stable fruiting even under adverse weather conditions. Plants are well-branched with moderate branching, facilitating care and harvest. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the BALLET cucumber is recommended for cultivation in glass and plastic greenhouses, as well as in open ground.
