Phytopathological Defense Mechanisms

The genetic profile of «Khalif» is built to address systemic and soil-borne threats through specific resistance pathways:

• Viral Barrier: High resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) and various plant mosaic viruses prevents leaf chlorosis and fruit malformation, ensuring consistent marketability.
• Vascular Integrity: Resistance to Verticillium wilt ensures the stability of the plant's hydraulic system, maintaining turgor pressure even during significant ambient temperature fluctuations.
• Rot Mitigation: The hybrid’s innate immunity to various rots minimizes crop loss during high-humidity periods typical of open-field cultivation.

Fruit Morphology and Field Management

The cucumbers exhibit a high-quality aesthetic with a dark green color and a fruit length of 10–12 cm. For optimal field performance, a planting density of 25,000 to 30,000 plants per hectare is recommended.
