Kornet

CORNET is an early-maturing hybrid of cucumber of cornichon type, intended for cultivation in open ground and plastic greenhouses. The plant features a cluster-type fruit set, allowing multiple green cucumbers to form at one node. The fruits are cylindrical, large-bumpy, slightly ribbed, green with stripes up to the middle, white-stemmed, 9-11 cm long and weighing 100-120 grams. They are free of bitterness and suitable for universal use, including pickling and fresh salads.

The CORNET hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 9-12 kg per square meter, as well as a prolonged fruiting period. The plant is resistant to various adverse conditions, tolerating both nighttime low temperatures and daytime sun. Moderate resistance to diseases such as anthracnose, ascochitosis, bacterial wilt, true and false powdery mildew ensures a stable yield even under unfavorable weather conditions.

For successful cultivation, seeds should be sown at a depth of 1.5-2 cm at a temperature of about 25 °C, and seedlings should be transplanted after the threat of frost has passed. Plants require timely watering and feeding, as well as covering with plastic film and horizontal stem support with tying to a trellis. High-fertility, well-drained soil with low nitrogen content is preferred; acidic soils should be limed to improve growing conditions.
