Description

Cucumber Mamen'kin Lyubimchik — an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid, characterized by high yield and consistent fruiting. The vegetation period ranges from 38 to 48 days depending on growing conditions. The plant forms compact bushes, with 3 to 7 fruiting nodes developing in each leaf axil. Fruits are cylindrical, 8–11 cm long and 80–130 g in weight. They have a dark green skin with large bumps and black spines, firm and juicy flesh without bitterness, making them especially tasty and crisp. The hybrid is resistant to several diseases, including powdery mildew, downy mildew, root rot, anthracnose, cladosporeiosis, and cucumber mosaic virus. This resistance ensures stable yields and reduces the need for frequent chemical treatments. Mamen'kin Lyubimchik is suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in plastic greenhouses and glasshouses, making it a versatile choice for various climatic conditions and cultivation methods. The fruits are versatile in use: they are excellent for fresh consumption, salad preparation, pickling, and preservation. Due to their dense structure and crisp texture, cucumbers retain their flavor qualities under various processing methods. Seeds are recommended to be sown in May–June, allowing for an early harvest within 40 days after germination. High yield and stress resistance make Mamen'kin Lyubimchik an attractive choice for gardeners and farmers.
