The 'Yuzhnaya Diva' hybrid, developed by Ooo Ssts Rostovskij in collaboration with the Federal Rostov Agrarian Scientific Center and the Poisk agro-firm, represents a prime example of a generative-type cucumber. Its core strength lies in a strict balance between vegetative mass and fruiting intensity, which allows the plant to channel most of its metabolic energy directly into yield production.

Biological Parameters and Adaptability

The ultra-early maturity—less than 40 days from germination—is achieved through high cell division rates during the active growth phase. Whether in open fields or glass greenhouses, the hybrid shows excellent plasticity, reducing the risk of stress-induced ovary drop.

• Fruit Architecture: The dark green cucumbers, measuring 13–15 cm, feature pronounced large tubercles. This surface structure not only enhances marketability but also provides the skin rigidity necessary for successful transport.
• Mass Indices: An average fruit weight of 100 grams is considered the industry benchmark, making the product highly suitable for both fresh markets and industrial processing.
• Generative Growth Habit: The plant is not prone to excessive side-shoot growth, simplifying bush management and improving light penetration, which prevents fruit yellowing.

Realizing the genetic potential of this hybrid depends heavily on balanced nutrient supply during the fruit-set stage. Given the intense yield delivery, the plant requires a consistent irrigation regime, avoiding soil moisture fluctuations that are critical to maintaining the quality of these large-tubercled fruits.
