SOUTHERN EMERALD

Southern Emerald F1 — an early cucumber hybrid that starts fruiting 42-45 days after sowing. This variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary plastic coverings, making it versatile for various climatic conditions. The plant is vigorous and vining, ensuring abundant and prolonged fruiting. The cucumbers have an oval-cylindrical shape, bright green color with large, sparse bumps and black spines. Fruit length is 10-12 cm, and weight is 75-90 g.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, and tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), significantly simplifying care and increasing crop reliability. The cucumbers have a tender, delicate skin, sweet flavor, and excellent aroma, making them ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and salting.

Sowing seedlings is recommended in early May, and transplanting into the ground should occur at the end of May or beginning of June, when the plants have developed 2-3 true leaves. Direct sowing into open ground is also possible during the same period. The optimal planting scheme is 40x40 cm, which provides sufficient space for vigorous vines to develop and ensures a high yield.
