Uncle Stepa cucumber is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid specifically developed for cultivation in plastic greenhouses. The period from germination to the first harvest is 42-45 days, allowing for an early and stable yield. The plants have an indeterminate growth type with medium branching and female flowering, with 2-3 fruits forming at each node, contributing to high productivity. The leaves are small and dark green, giving the plant an attractive appearance.
The fruits of Uncle Stepa cucumber are elongated-cylindrical, measuring 12-17 cm in length and weighing about 100-130 grams. Their surface is smooth with white hairs and white spines. The cucumbers have excellent flavor, are juicy, aromatic, and free of bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption and salad preparation. The flesh is rich and delicious.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 20-23 kg per square meter — as well as resistance to cold and several diseases, including cladosporeosis, cucumber mosaic virus, and powdery mildew. Due to its low maintenance requirements and stable yield, Uncle Stepa is one of the best salad hybrids for greenhouse cultivation, fruiting until the end of September.
