Description
The Belmond dill variety belongs to mid-season and universal types, characterized by rapid growth and high yield. It takes 35-40 days from germination to harvesting greenery, and 70-76 days to reach technical maturity. The plant is compact, reaching a height of 80-105 cm during technical maturity and has up to eight side shoots, which promotes abundant greenery formation. Dill umbels are large, with a diameter of 17-19 cm, which is an important characteristic for technical use.
The leaves of the Belmond variety are emerald green with a delicate aroma; they maintain a saturated color even under extreme conditions such as drought or low temperatures. This is achieved thanks to weak anthocyanin expression and the presence of a waxy coating on the leaves. The plant has well-developed basal stems (2-3 pieces), which allows for fresh greenery throughout the summer, extending the culture's usage period.
The variety is resistant to diseases such as black leg and verticillium wilt, making it reliable for growing both in film greenhouses and in open ground. Greenery yield ranges from 1.2 to 1.5 kg per square meter, while technical dill yield is from 3.5 to 5.1 kg per square meter. Sowing seeds is recommended in April or May; seedlings appear after 10 days at temperatures of 15-25°C, and harvest is typically in July and August.
