Halif

The Halif eggplant variety is a mid-season universal variety suitable for growing in open ground, under film coverings, and in greenhouses. The vegetative period is 115-120 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The plant is semi-bushy, reaching a height of up to 70 cm, which facilitates care and fruit harvesting.

Halif eggplant fruits have an elongated, bullet-shaped form with a slight bend, 18-20 cm long and 5-6 cm in diameter. Their weight is 200-250 g, and the skin is glossy and dark purple at technical maturity. The flesh is whitish, without bitterness, ensuring excellent culinary qualities and versatility in various dishes. The variety differs in high yield, especially under film coverings, where it reaches 3.6 kg per square meter.

Halif has resistance to a range of pests and diseases, including spider mites, verticillium, and fusarium wilt, as well as the Colorado potato beetle. This significantly reduces the need for intensive plant protection and increases crop reliability. Fruits store well, retaining freshness for about a month, which is convenient for long-term use and marketing. The variety is recommended for sowing in March, allowing optimal use of the season for growing.
