Elizabeth

Elizabeth blueberry is a large-fruited, late-ripening variety with a vigorous, spreading, upright bush reaching 1.6 to 1.8 meters in height. The stems of the bush have a characteristic red coloration, indicating high winter hardiness. This variety is known for its good yield — up to 4 to 6 kilograms of berries can be harvested from one bush, with fruiting spread over several weeks, beginning in early August.

The berries of Elizabeth blueberry are large, 20-22 mm in diameter and weighing about 2 grams, with a dense blue skin and small calyx. They detach easily from the bush and are practically unharmed during transportation. In terms of flavor, this variety is considered one of the best — the berries are sweet and aromatic, making them attractive for both personal consumption and commercial cultivation.

To successfully grow Elizabeth blueberry, select well-lit areas with acidic, light soil (pH 3.5-5), preferably based on peat. The plant does not tolerate waterlogging or standing water, which may lead to its death. Due to its high frost resistance, this variety is suitable for cultivation in regions with cold winters and can be used in both private gardens and small commercial plantations.
