A proven solution against chlorosis in berry crops, ensuring rapid iron uptake even in challenging soil pH conditions.
Description
Addressing Iron Chlorosis in Berry Crops
When the leaves on raspberries or strawberries start yellowing while the veins remain green, it is a textbook sign of iron deficiency. In my experience, relying on simple sulfates is ineffective, especially in soils with neutral or alkaline pH. "FERTILE (DTPA-FE 11%)" by "Klov" has become my go-to tool for effectively correcting this imbalance in my fields.
Application and Field Performance
The product comes as a powder that dissolves remarkably well in the sprayer tank. The key here is the DTPA chelate. It is significantly more stable in high-pH conditions compared to standard EDTA formulations. Depending on the stress level of the plants and the general state of the plantation, my application rates vary between 0.5 and 5 kg per hectare. I apply it strictly as a foliar treatment, ensuring the leaf surface is fully covered for maximum absorption.
- Composition Efficiency: With 11% iron in a highly bioavailable form, it revitalizes the crop within just a few days of application.
- Application Frequency: The manufacturer allows up to 2 treatments. I typically perform one preventive spray during the peak growth period and reserve the second one for plants showing stress symptoms after harsh weather conditions.
- Handling: As a Class 3 hazard product, it is straightforward to handle with standard PPE, consistent with other common micronutrient fertilizers.
For me, the biggest advantage of this fertilizer is the predictable outcome. Foliar feeding with "FERTILE" doesn't just improve leaf color; it effectively kickstarts the photosynthesis process, which directly improves berry size and market quality. If your berries are struggling with micronutrient deficiencies, this DTPA-chelated iron is the most direct path to recovery.
