Description
Phacelia «Aleshinskaya» is an erect plant up to 90 cm tall with high branching and low bushiness, featuring a stiff bristly pubescence. Leaves are pinnately serrated, dissected, and dark green of medium size. Inflorescences are dense, shield-like umbels ranging from blue to blue-violet.
The plant has high fodder value: 15.9–17.1% protein and 21–22.7% fiber. Thanks to these properties, Phacelia «Aleshinskaya» is widely used as a nectar-producing culture and cover crop. The average green mass yield over three years is 290.16 ц/ga, which is 40.33 ц/ga higher than the standard indicator.
The culture is resistant to phytophthora and other fungal diseases, and also helps in the fight against pests (snout beetles, wireworm). When incorporated into the soil, it improves fertility, enhancing soil quality for subsequent crops. Phacelia «Aleshinskaya» is suitable for cultivation in many climatic regions, including northern and central zones, as well as the Ural, Siberian, and Far Eastern regions.
The variety was developed by scientists of the Institute of Apiculture and was registered in 2023. Seeds are distributed through a certified seed farm, guaranteeing their quality and compliance with agricultural production requirements.
