Anastasia

The Phacelia «Anastasia» variety (Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth.) is an erect plant with a height of 53–76 cm and low branching, with a foliage coverage of 29.6–34.3 %. The inflorescence is a medium-density spikelet-shaped whorl 3–6 cm long; flowers have a blue-violet hue and weak awniness. The fodder value of this variety ranges from 6.9% to 8.4% protein and from 20.4% to 22.3% fiber, making it attractive for livestock.

«Anastasia» demonstrates high green mass yield – averaging 190.9 c/ha over three years, exceeding the standard by 12 c/ha. Dry matter content reaches 45.9 c/ha, above the standard by 9.4 c/ha. Thanks to these indicators, the plant can be used as a source of green manure: from one centner, one can obtain from 200 to 300 kg of green mass depending on sowing density.

Moreover, Phacelia «Anastasia» is a honey-producing crop that facilitates the attraction of bees and increases hive productivity. As a green manure, it improves soil structure: after application, the earth becomes loose and airy, and heavy clay soil is enhanced. The plant is grown from early spring to late autumn; winter sowing is possible, which ensures flexibility in planning agricultural activities.
