Dual-action protection for cereals against root rots and smut diseases in a single application.
Description
Synergy of components: the chemical foundation of protection
The efficacy of the "Grinfort Tebuzalil" seed treatment is based on the combination of two active substances: imazalil and tebuconazole. This systemic fungicide, developed by Grinfort LTD, is designed to combat a wide spectrum of seed-borne and soil-borne pathogens. Unlike mono-preparations, it utilizes a mechanism of mutual reinforcement between the active ingredients.
Tebuconazole (a triazole) blocks ergosterol biosynthesis in fungal cells, compromising the integrity of the pathogen's membranes. This provides a robust protective effect against smut diseases and rust. Imazalil, belonging to the imidazole class, demonstrates high activity against root rots, effectively suppressing spore development on the seed surface and in the germination zone.
Technical application details
The product is supplied as an emulsion for seed treatment, ensuring uniform coverage of the grain at a dosage rate of 0.5–1.0 l/t. Its systemic action allows the protective agent to penetrate deep into the seed, creating a reliable barrier during the most vulnerable stage of seedling development.
- Infection Control: Bunt (covered smut), fusarium and helminthosporium root rots, and seed mold.
- Vegetation Protection: Suppressing powdery mildew and septoria during the early growth stages of winter wheat and barley.
- Efficiency: When applied at the correct dosage, the product does not adversely affect germination, which is critical for uniform crop emergence.
A single application is sufficient to ensure seed safety throughout the critical germination period. No secondary treatment is required, reducing operational complexity. Given its classification as a Category 2 hazard, strict adherence to personal protective equipment protocols is mandatory when handling the product.
